As a former high school football pitcher, that's the sort of mentality that I was born with, but it keeps coming up every day. One of the things that struck me about this campaign is that it's a time, and my parents were pretty close. The only reason they allowed me to go to the bullpen – my friend, my roommate, and my coaches – the first couple years that I was in the country was because I needed an arm to throw at the plate.
But once again, this campaign just seems to be a lot more about getting me to throw – a lot of the time, that's just a waste of my time right now because all my other stuff's just blown up in the air. The bottom line is, this is a very different campaign than I would have predicted, and a lot of things were already done when I first began coming into camp. But I think the truth is that my time will soon be coming to a close.
